Eames Plywood Folding Screen
As Charles and Ray Eames saw it, designers just want to have "serious fun." This undulating screen resulted from their play. Noting the U-shaped cross sections of plywood from their early molding experiments were stable enough to stand alone, they made them longer (68 inches) and joined them with canvas hinges and a synthetic adhesive developed during World War II. Today, a durable woven polypropylene mesh held securely by a new process ensures a longer life without compromising the integrity of the 1946 design. You get a portable, foldable, enjoyable way to divide space and give privacy.

The Eames® Folding Screen is made of six molded plywood sections, each section is about 10" wide, 68" high. In stock on February 22, 2012: 1 ebony, 1 walnut. Free shipping within the continental US.
