Charles and Ray Eames
|
Charles and Ray Eames
worked in architecture, film,
mathematics, astronomy, as well as
furniture design. They began their
association with Herman Miller in 1946,
the same year in which the Museum of
Modern Art gave an unprecedented showing
of their design work. The following
year, Dot Pattern was included in the
Museum's Competition for Printed
Fabrics.
"Circles" was discovered in the
sketchbooks of Charles and Ray Eames but
was never realized as a textile design
during their lifetime. It is available
today thanks to a recent collaboration
between the Eames Office and the textile
company Maharam. Together, working from
original sketches, they arrived at the
correct scale, repeat and color for the
fabric.

Fabric is sold by the yard
